Mānawatia a Matariki

“Mānawatia a Matariki' is a waiata that was written in 10 minutes before Matariki rose in 2024. Composed by Jasmine Mānihera for her tamariki, it was then turned into an extraordinary arrangement through the amazing talents of Jeremy Hantler and The Harmonic Resonators. Ria Hall, ko tētahi korokoro tūī rongonui, enhanced the mana of the waiata with her superb talents and aroha for all things Māori. The song celebrates the first official Te Ao Māori public holiday and encourages us all to appreciate the unique teachings of our ancestors by keeping them relevant in today’s modern world.” - excerpt from the Manawa songbook*
